"I visited to discuss exceptionally painful hip. GP not sure of what it was so I made a suggestion based on another GPs suggestion, a relative, (made as a telephone diagnosis and therefore made with caution) . Treatment would have been a steroid injection but the next available appointment was 2 weeks hence.
I returned for the steroid injection and was asked where the injection should go as I was 'the expert '. I said that no, I was relying on the doctor's expertise. I was warned of the side effects of the injection and I asked if it was needed.
The doctor briefly examined me and said he didn't think so, but when I talked about how I could not sleep because pain woke me up and I have to move carefully in bed to avoid pain, I was told that the pain didn't matter. Other comments.were.made about me being an expert and not needing the GPS input.
I was told to see a physiotherapist privately. No diagnosis was made.
I was happy to have a professional diagnosis, put to me in a professional way. This did not happen. I was treated in a scornful and rude manner, which caused me to say that the comments were a 'little unfair '. It was after I left the practice, feeling tearful, that I realised how unpleasant the experience had been. The doctor should have known better than to act in this manner. I am considering leaving the practice and will be contacting the practice manager."
