"I have just been to the surgery for my annual flu jab. I am 71 years old and have to say it was not as well organised as it has been in past years. What is going on Alpine Surgery? All the posters up advertising the flu were for clinics in September. I believe that I am entitled to a shingles vaccination. Well that's what my brother in law told me who is the same age and just had one. I was never asked to have one with my flu, I have not been invited to attend for one and when I looked on my online records to check (as being 71 I am inclined to forget) the only information available on there was that I was due childhood vaccinations and never had them. Well I wouldn't would I as they were not available when I was that age! What a load of useless information. Now I have got to call up the surgery to find out if I have had it or when I can get one. The information available for patients via both the website and in the surgery itself is shocking. Never (or rarely) updated which leaves patients having to make the dreaded telephone call in the hope that they can get through to someone who knows what they are talking about. It s real shame Alpine Surgery that it has come to this as I have been a patient for well over 30 years and the service was always top notch."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
