"I have been in this village for many years & have seen the surgery put under considerable pressure with the huge increase of housing that has taken place. Arun Council Planning should not allow further housing unless further medical services are put into place to accommodate the increase. I have read the negative reviews but cannot say that I concur with them. Yes, I have been referred to a triage nurse occasionally but have found them very capable. If ring back is used I normally get through within 5 mins & have always seen either a Doctor or Triage nurse the same day. I have always been treated with care & dignity.
I would however have to say that the adjoining chemists are a shambles. I stood in a considerable queue the other day as a woman on the desk was asking a young man in a loud voice if he was on income support & could feel his humiliation. They often get our prescriptions wrong which entails a further visit & more queueing. They need a good manager & more training in customer services as this overflows as criticism of the medical centre which is not justified."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
