"It is not the Doctors level of competence that is in question at Bartley Green, if you get to see one they're very good. However, this is where the problem lies it's very difficult to get an appointment to see one. For example i logged on today only to find no appointments available for 2 weeks. They I have to admit are not the only surgery in Birmingham that has this issue. The main problem as I see it is they don't put in the hours to satisfy demand. I understand them wanting to earn X amount for X amount of hours but that doesn't help the community they supposed to serve. My wife works at the QE Hospital as an auxiliary nursing assistant on 12 hours shifts and due to demand she often works through her breaks and after her finish time none of which she get's paid for but patients would suffer if she didn't. Many people who work in the service of the community do this so why can't they? No it is not fair but it's the nature of the job, give the service that is needed halfday closing on a Wednesday for a start is ridiculous in this day and age.
At the end of the day lives ARE being put at risk because patients (like me) get sick of trying to get an appointment so leave things until it's too late to take effective action to prevent a condition from escalating therefore putting mote pressure on the NHS"
