"I have never had a positive experience when trying to book an appointment at Belle Vale Medical Centre. The instructions are to call at 8am in the morning to book an appointment - each time I have tried to do this I have been unable to get through and by the time I do all appointments are gone and I am told there are no appointments to pre book either. This has happened every time I have tried to book an appointment. I am then told by rude and unhelpful staff that I need to call at 8am on the dot (like I hadn't been trying!) and to try again tomorrow. Being a person who works, I'm not always able to do this and have usually taken the day to work from home just to try and get an appointment at the doctors. I actually dread needing any medical help more for the fact I have to deal with Belle Vale more than being ill... it's a total shambles. If you live in the area and are looking for a medical centre, I would only recommend this surgery if you do not work as this seems to be the only demographic Belle Vale will cater for."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
