"Over the years I have had constant issues regarding repeat prescriptions. I am on permanent medication which requires a yearly review. On numerous occasions when phoning in for a repeat prescription it is never at the chemist when i call to collect it and when i go to the surgery reception they say " the doctor cant give it to you as you require a review" , this is despite my review not being due for some months yet . They then after me having to get rather annoyed and becoming very pushy request a months prescription for me. I therefore have to arrange an appointment for a review within the month ( which as I work away from home is very difficult as they say they cannot pre-book one within 4 weeks) I therefore have to take time off work to enable me to do the 8.30 call in and so I am home to attend the appointment if lucky enough to get one. So after the review I am relieved to think well I have another year before needing another review so will just phone in for my next 4 prescriptions ......NOt a chance !!! Upon my next call 3 months later I have exactly the same issue and again and again....despite me saying i've had my review on such a such a day they completely ignore me and talk down to me like a school child....they tell me the doctor has failed to update my records correctly so the whole process starts again. This is despite my records showing the various tests results which carried out for my review . Absolutely SHocking service and I am now taking this to the higher authorities. I have lost many many days off work (unpaid) because of this and am being forced to pay for my medication monthly instead of once every 3 months which I feel is a ploy to get in more money off the payers. And as well as all this unless I take unpaid time off work and risk losing my job I would be without life saving medication due to the complete incompetence of the doctors and the surgery!!"
