"I go here every month, either with my daughter or husband, or for myself. Usually no problem getting appointments for children but always a delay in getting appointments for adults. The most frustrating thing is the reception staff who don't listen to what you are asking or saying. I have requested my prescriptions be sent electronically to my local pharmacy for a year now and it took 3 months to get right. It was fine for about 3 months and now I have had 6 months of constantly turning up to collect a prescription from a pharmacy that hasn't got it because (as I found out today) they HAVEN'T been sending electronically but in the post when 'they have a few to make it worthwhile'! Hence why I am always piggy in the middle of one place saying they haven't got it, and the other saying they sent it.... Its in a post bag somewhere. Come on, it's 2018 not 1918. Also I was asked to provide details of what I needed to have in a Dr's letter for the school. Instead of listening to what I was asking the receptionist stood there like a parrot repeatedly telling me you had to pay, which I acknowledged. All I wanted to do was email in the content so it be cut and pasted and save THEIR time. She eventually gave me the email address and a receipt, and said I needn't send an email because she had noted on the receipt what I wanted, and they would call when ready. No surprise I wasn't called and when I chased and collected the content was totally wrong because she wasn't LISTENING."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
