"I visited he surgery as had to have a review of my prescription was sat waiting in the surgery and I heard someone say something but couldn't make out what they say as I am tone deaf and some tones of men, a couple of minutes later the receptionist screamed my name that I jumped up. I find some of the reception staff nice but some are down right uncaring with a tone that sounds as if she doesn't care. Then on another occasion I
had been feeling unwell for a time and using my ventolin inhaler more often than normal. On coughing up green mucus and out of breath when trying to do easy things like climbing the stairs. I decided that I would ring in to get an appointment as I felt that I had a chest infection. When ringing the surgery I was not given the option to do this - "To improve our access we are trying a new appointment system by offering telephone triage each day. Anyone wishing to see a doctor on that day will be telephoned back by a doctor to discuss their problem they will then be able to offer the patient the most appropriate appointment." I was told that there was an appointment at 11:10 even though this was a 10:55 that I had rung there was no way that I would of made the appointment, due to me being in the middle of town and I do not get paid for time off work! The receptionist that I spoke to said that I would be better off going to the walk in centre in town. I have heard how long you have to wait to be seen in the walk in centre so that would not of been an option. I then decided that I would wait until Monday and I would stand outside and get an appointment. On Saturday I was waiting for my prescription from the chemist and she had heard me coughing she suggested that I ring 111 because I sounded quite poorly. I try not to waste peoples time so again thought I would wait until Monday. Sunday however because it was hot an humid I was struggling to breathe and taking my inhaler a lot more, I gave in and rang 111. I managed to get an emergency appointment at London Road surgery and now on antibiotics."
