"I visited this walk in over a year ago following an injury on my heel. I was in a lot of pain and had already had an x-ray but I needed something to dumb it down. I was first in and seen very quickly and provided with two sets of tablets to ease the pain. Great service.
Now I visited today again, and this time there was a queue of people in front of me, but this was filtered through quite quickly, although I was surprised by the number of people being turned away or advised to call 111. The person in front of me had a similar injury to me last year and got turned away. So I got to the counter and described my symptoms, but I was asked to call 111 as my symptoms were non specific and they couldnât do blood tests at the surgery. So I came out, called 111 and they advised me to go straight to A&E. A&E pre diagnosed me with flu like symptoms and sent me to the GP on site. Who said I had the flu. The only tests they run were heart rate, blood pressure,temperature and checked my eyes as I had an pain in the back of my left eye. GP gave me a prescription and I went off. All I wanted to know was a diagnosis but Iâd seemed to be have sent round in an unecessary loop especially when I was feeling very unwell.
Overall, the people on the desk were very polite and courteous, but maybe turning to many people to A&E unnecessarily. A shame really, as probably wonât go back now. Might try to find a GP open on the weekend or late in the evening."
