"I have been with this practice for some years but unfortunately every time I need an appointment the only way to get one is to either wait outside early morning from about 715am waiting for them to open as there is always a long queue waiting for the doors to open or make a online appointment which is 3-4 weeks later. When I do ring for an appointment exactly at 8.00am in the morning as requested to get an appointment I find that I am caller number 37!!! ...How is that possible when you start taking calls at 8.00am? I waited nearly 20-25 minutes waiting for an answer only to be told that there were no appointments available. they did however, say that they would put me on a waiting list if there were any cancellation but at caller 37 how many others are before me? Why don't they limit the lines available for calls instead of wasting the patients time and also the receptionist who has to tell people there are no appointments. Surely that cuts down on useful work they need to do too. I am seriously considering changing surgery. The Doctors and some of the Nurses in this surgery as very considerate and helpful and understanding and that is why I have stayed registered here. But their appointment system lets them down. My daughter has already left the surgery because of this."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
