"I have been a patient at the practice for a long time, but it seems to have become increasingly difficult to get an appointment. I tried to book an appointment about a year ago. I was told that I could no longer book a few days or a week or two weeks in advance. Instead, I was told to wait until the day when I wanted an appointment and telephone on that day as soon as the surgery opens (between 8.00am and 8.30am), in order to get an appointment on that day. I was told that there might not be any appointments left if I didnât telephone early. I donât think that this system works well for patients. I tried to book an appointment more recently. I phoned shortly after 8.00am, as requested. I had the day off, so I didnât mind what time the appointment was. Nevertheless, I was told that there were no appointments left, but I was offered an appointment with a GP at Pennfields Health Centre in Upper Zoar Street at 7.30pm. I don't see the point of being registered with a practice, if patients are given routine GP appointments elsewhere. It seems that this practice has taken on too many new patients in recent years and is now offloading its existing patients elsewhere."
