"I am writing this review in balance to a review I wrote yesterday the 18th Sept 18, of Camp Hill GP led surgery, only a mile from this GP Led surgery at Chancery Lane. I was turned away yesterday from Camp Hill with incorrect information from the front counter staff informing me that I could not receive treatment by GPâs as there was no such thing as a âtemporary patientâ treatment system in operation by the NHS; even though I had mentioned that it was on the NHS website, and I had been advised by NHS 111 to ask for that system upon arriving there at Camp Hill.
The staff here at Chancery Lane Surgery (I met three people in reception) were all friendly, polite, helpful, well informed and straight away booked me in as a temporary patient due to me being away from home with work, for an ear infection I have picked up. All the staff here understood the fact that GPâs can indeed accept a patient as âtemporaryâ and in fact one of the staff said it was âstandard practiceâ, as I was completing the actual NHS form for registration as a temporary patient.
In stark contrast to the public facing counter staff yesterday at Camp Hill, the staff here at Chancery Lane were superbly professional and well informed and I had an appointment booked within 5 minutes of arriving at the surgery and had been seen, diagnosed and treated by a GP within 2 hours! The public facing staff I met here today are a the epitome of the brilliant work carried out by the real heroes of the National Health Service, and you guys should be brilliantly proud of yourselves for an amazing job completed with absolutely no fuss whatsoever. Perfect example of a shining surgery operated by shining and professional staff.
The GP I saw was amazingly helpful and understanding of my predicament being away from home and treated me as if I was a long time patient of the surgery. The infection was diagnosed immediately and the relevant medication prescribed for me, and all within a 5 minute visit. As the Meerkats would say "Simples".
When I searched yesterday for the Camp Hill official NHS page so I could leave a review, I noticed prior to leaving my own review, that their star rating was only 1 out of 5 and in general there were very few positive comments and in a point of fact, their reviews were littered with negative comments about the public facing front desk staff. What a great thing then to see just a few minutes ago when I arrived at the Chancery Lane official NHS web page to leave a review, to find that they have a 4 out of 5 review rating and 99% of their reviews are superbly positive toward the staff. This told me something immediately about the major difference between these two places and made me feel much more at ease with my own reviews.
The other thing I noticed was the replies to reviews given by the two surgeries; Chancery Lane - Professional, explanative and courteous, Camp Hill - Cut and paste, 3 line rubbish.
