"I'm amazed there are good reviews as the service I've received has been atrocious. Mistakes made by receptionists, they the deny it blaming me only to later admit the error but then tell me I should have ensured they didn't miss interpret the information! One particular receptionist should not be anywhere near the public due to her appalling manner. As for the GP staff. Well I was misdiagnosed more than five times over the space of a year. Was told "oh we all feel like that, stand up slower, you need to relax a bit". No basic tests done let alone further exploratory work. It resulted in me being told I was lucky to be alive after I was admitted to HDU with a life threatening condition that had been missed multiple times. I'm sure I will get asked to call the surgery to discuss this review but I am leaving. As have other patients I know for the very same reasons stated here."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
