"I was quite surprised to read an account of the appointment services offered by this surgery, stated in a reply to a patient unable to get one. I have tried ringing up on the day, from 8am with little to no luck and I have never been offered any of the appointments referred to by this Surgery. Who can get an appointment at the HUB, never offered one. I had the opportunity to stand behind an older lady that had come from an hearing appt: This lady had an ear infection that she had been trying to treat herself, without success, needed appt: reply, we have no appointments today! So where are these extra appointments and who gets them. The online bookable I know are released but I think everyone must be waiting finger on the button because I have frequently found this site saying âNo appointments available to bookâ, although there obviously have been.
I do agree their nurse practitioner is excellent but if you do need a Dr appointment at the very least it is unnecessarily stressful, I usually give up and self medicate, albeit with some Imput from Pharmacists who are very knowledgeable. And also Google, a very helpful tool. I have been told on occasions by Pharmacist I need to see a Dr but if there isnât one you just have to do the best you can. This practice should not have merged but expanded in line with the towns expansion. The practice now only has 1 of the original doctors that was part of The Rectory, so continuity of care by âourâ doctors has also suffered. I am sure the doctors must feel the strain but when unwell being unable to see a doctor cannot help anyone."
