"My husband was taken seriously ill in April 2018 without any prior warning. On informing the receptionist of his symptoms, the doctor asked us to visit the surgery immediately. His care, concerns, diagnosis and actions were exemplary....An amazing professional...We were advised to go to A&E immediately and the doctor prepared the necessary documentation expediently and informed the A&E Department of our impending arrival. Since April, the ongoing care from the surgery and, indeed, from the NHS in general has been outstanding...Quite frankly, my husband owes his life to this amazing team of professionals...We have been kept informed, at all times about my husband's condition and ongoing treatment and the compassion which we have received, as a family, from everyone at Church View Health Centre has been overwhelming...Thank you to everyone...We are so very grateful...The NHS at its very best!"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
