"Middlestown Medical Centre - Extremely Poor Service
I recently moved to the area and registered with this surgery. Attended my first appointment on 17/09/18
Issue No 1 - Doctor late for my appointment
I arrived on time for my 8:30 appointment but the doctor I was seeing did not turn up at the building until 8:55! Not a great start I thought.
Issue No2 - Practice manager has not replied to my letter
The key purpose for my visit was to review my medical needs, and in particular to arrange a repeat prescription for my long standing high blood pressure condition. At the conclusion of the appointment the doctor confirmed I would indeed need to continue taking medication, however would only offer repeat prescriptions with a one month duration. When I asked if this could be extended to cover a longer period he said no â it was not their policy.
I explained this had not been the case at Sandal Castle Medical Centre, my previous surgery where they had issued prescriptions on a three month basis.
He advised the only way my request might be considered was by writing to the practice manager. This I duly did on 17/09/18 by way of hand delivered letter to the surgery. At the time of writing 10/10/18 itâs now over three weeks and I am still waiting for a reply."
