"The doctors and nurses at this surgery are fantastic and one lady on reception.
Rest of receptionists however are usually patronising, rude and obnoxious. Its a nice surprise if you speak to a polite one once in a while.
There is no excuse for speaking to people like dirt, especially in this profession.
I am housebound so my appointments are either phone appointments or house calls for emergencies only.
Every single time iâve called for a home visit, which is 3-4 times over last 10 years, iâve had to deal with the stress of these people during an acute health episode.
Denying me a home visit appointment âbecause iâm too young to be housebound!â And âtheyâre only available to the elderly and disabledâ Iâve been bedbound/housebound for 20 years and explaining this doesnât help either.
Every time, iâve had to instead waste more time by first booking a phone appointment with doctor, just to explain that i wasnât allowed to book a home visit, after which they then visit.
I absolutely dread trying to book a home visit, because its usually at a time when iâm extremely ill and i have no choice, and I donât have the strength to argue with these people over the phone. Iâve been close to tears on occasion after dealing with them."
