"Awful service for anyone who is vulnerable or needs help with Cancer care. Reception staff are unpleasant, they write wrong reviews of why youâve been to see them. Absolutely no care for the patient. They are happy to forget you unlike other surgeries. Surely they go on courses to help vulnerable people? If youâve got a cold you might be okay but if you have more complex conditions go to somebody who knows what they are doing. I guess they sleep well at night while people like myself are up all night worried about the service they receive. The complaints system is a joke, not even a response to say they have received a complaint. I guess itâs a basic surgery but not for one who has complex needs or slight mental illnesses, Iâm very disappointed as this surgery was recommended to myself and itâs turned out to be like a 60âs comedy show. Iâm now looking to find a compitant Doctors Surgery. When you fight daily for your life with high grade cancer donât chose a low grade GP. They need retrainment for modern day care and to stop be like a Carry On Doctorsâs comedy film."

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
