"It really is pointless having the doctors on the dock , you canât tiger through on the phone , sometimes spending well over an hour on hold , when you do get through no appointment. Call back tomorrow at 8am (thatâs no good to us that work for a living !) there never seems to be a doctor in the surgery ! Iv lived on here 5 years and only once have I got to see a doctor in that surgery always being sent to Morrill street doctors , I donât drive ! And I have a newborn ! The busses are shocking on here so canât get a bus there. If I have a doctors 2 minutes from my house why should I be sent to one thatâs a 30 minute walk away ?! And people
Wonder why there is so much pressure on hospitals if your doctors continually fail you itâs the next logical step. It really angery me when itâs for my newborn I canât get an appointment for you need a doctor permanently in this surgery itâs as simple as that. And you should be able to book appointments not just call on the day and have your fingers crossed."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
