Of course, itâs easier for them to get 90% of their phone calls over in half an hour and then have a quiet phone for the rest of the day.
My mother had to give up trying to get an appointment on the phone, but in her 80s she finds it hard to use the online system (I find it pretty hard myself â at least to set it up!). Even with the online system you have to log on by 8am. The libraries are closed at that time, so people who canât afford internet access at home have to spend their precious pennies at a café.
I've tried politely pointing out that their booking system perhaps isn't the best, but they seemed supremely uninterested."
