"On the few occasions either my husband or I have had to use the surgery this year for urgent requests we have been given appointments on the day. My husband had to wait 10 days for a routine appointment. However, his GP at that appointment booked his follow up appointment the next week following test results himself, thus negating further waiting time for my husband.
The surgery offer routine evening and early morning appointment twice a week which is very helpful for those who work.
The practice employ a multidisciplinary workforce. The nurse practitioners provide specialist disease management and support urgent care alongside the GPS. The pharmacist employed by the practice monitors all repeat prescribing plus BP and Diagnostics when required with certain medicines and disease management.
The 100 hour pharmacy on site is extremely good as you can get new prescriptions immediately following a consultation without a journey into the town. In addition the pharmacy is open until 10.30pm in the evenings which allows for prescriptions to be collected at quiet times on the surgery site. Itâs wonderful.
Parking at the surgery can be difficult at peak times of the day but as the Health Centre is based on the Community Hospital site one can usually find a spot somewhere.
The information board is regularly kept up to date with information and health promotion activities."
