"I am registered with this surgery. The surgery website advertises access to appointments 6pm to 8pm one evening a week.
I went into the surgery in person to book an evening appointment and was offered 5.10pm in 4 weeks time. Was informed by the receptionist that unless it was an absolute emergency, then I could not book a 6pm - 8pm appointment. Also, wouldnât let me book a 7.30am - 8am appointment.
I cannot telephone at 8am. I am at work.
I do not have my online password to book online and even though I have filled in the correct forms & provided two forms of picture i.d. (photocopied & filed at the surgery), requesting online access... the receptionist would not sent out my online log in again to my home address. Instead, I have to go back to the surgery again with the same two forms of i.d. (already filed with the surgery) and then ask them to release my login details again.
Spoke to the pharmacist, who has sold me something that actually, now Iâve come home and read the instructions- is totally unsuitable for the concern which I described to him.
An awkward and upsetting experience. Felt really uncomfortable having to beg for appointment access and being turned away. Didnât feel comfortable talking to the Pharmacist, surrounding by other people.
There needs to be easier ways for people who work full time to access a doctor or nurse - especially at the practice where they are registered."
