"I have been on repeat medication for over 15 years and have been asked by the Doctor on my last prescription that I need to make an appointment for a Blood Pressure Check and Blood Test. OK That's fine. or so I thought.
I work away most of the week so can only really do Monday Mornings. I am told the Nurse who will do these tests works Mondays so great book me in.
Then it starts, 1st Monday "she isn't working that Monday", fine the Monday after will be fine as there is no urgency. Sorry cant book any further than a week as the diary system doesn't go up that far.
So basically Doctors have asked me to come in for these test but then cant make me an appointment because their diary system only works on a week by week basis. What a way to run a surgery.
I asked what happens when my prescription is due and I haven't managed to arrange these tests to be told the Doctor will probably give me some medication to tide me over until my appointment! You couldn't make it up. Its like a Monty Python Sketch.
So Doctor you want me to have these tests, fine, Your Nurse works Mondays which is perfect for me, fine. Cant book up though because your diary system doesn't let you! Its Ridiculous and a good job my blood pressure isn't being taken at this precise moment! Im not asking for an appointment today, tomorrow etc I dont care what Monday it is just put me down for the next available Monday Morning. It shouldn't be that hard, It is at the end of the day you that wants me to have these tests.
The answer is that we have to ring up every day until the computer updates. Shambles"
