"Im disgusted by our NHS. I rang at 8am and it said it couldn't connect. I googled the opening times and it says 9am on google. I rang back at 9am to finally get through to find out they actually open at 8am and that there was no appointments and that I have to ring back at 1pm. My son is covered with spots. It probably is measles etc but it could be Meningitis. So im concerned. After complaining a bit to the receptionist I was advised to take my son to hospital Which if its just measles etc is a bit extreme and I would have to take time out of work as well. Why is it that they are always short staffed. Also why are they not open later or at weekends. What would I do if this happened on a weekend. The doctors is not a solicitors etc so why is it not open at more convenient times. Its fine if you don't work. But for those of us who struggle to make ends meet taking time off means losing money. That then means im paying less tax. That means the government is losing money. Ok so I guess I will have to take time off work, lose money and get my son booked in at the local hospital which is probably a more expensive appointment costing us all more taxes. Why is it so hard to get a simple doctors appointment. This isn't the first time either. Its disgusting."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
