"I am a patient of this practice for 25 years. The doctor has taken over the practice 2 and half years a go. My review is for the last 2 years.
I attended GP today for my routine follow up. Appointment was requested a week a go and i got the appt with the doctor I wanted to see.
Reception was excellent. Very plesent and welcoming. The doctor had time to listen to me, asked questions, examined me, reviewed the medication and then explained about bloods and what he though of the need in future. He had involved me and let me give my thoughts in the management. I can't fault the GP. He was excellent.
I have seen the changes in the practice in last 2 + years. The practice is changing with the times. It appears that the patient do not need to see GP all the time and skil mix enviornment does have a place in the modern GP Npractice. He has brought in advanced clinical pharmacist who is involved with the chronic disease management with medication review. Practice nurse has chronic disease management and other responsibilities. Both these peaople takes off lots of work load. Nurse clinician takes care of routine and day today cases. GP is left with the complex and special need patients. I found that He has picked one of the existing staff and gave oppotuinity to become GP assistant by sending for furthur education and she is now a qualified GP assistant ( like academi graduate). On top of this the practice is supplimented with the services of the primary care team.
I learn from the staff that all stafff need to know each other's work and so staff has nearly same knowledge. When patient asks for anything, each staff know how to answer and sort out the issue.
I feel that this practice has moved with the time according to the changes in the NHS but keeping patient in the main focus.
I would recommond anyone who is looking for the progressive practice then this is the right practice for them. My recommondations are 100% for the practice. If any one has a bad experience then discuss with the practice manager or the doctor as I found them with listening ears and helpful."
