"I've been a patient at The Lawns GP for the past 10 years and have always been very pleased with the standard of care I, and my other half, have received. Like all surgeries they are under increasing pressure from an aging and expanding population but they cope well in trying conditions. The building is undergoing major updates which can only be a good thing .
Yes- getting an 'emergency' appointment can be a bit of a pain as it can take several phone calls before you get through BUT once that minor issue has been overcome I have ALWAYS got an appointment that morning. This system does work and was better than my prior surgery where you had to appear in person and simply wait.
I use the on line booking service which is EXCELLENT and very easy to use- but you do need basic computing skills.
I have faith in ALL the doctors I have seen- I do try and see the same one each time but when I have used the others they have been very good. Unfortunately my favourite doctor has retired from full time practice but his replacement is fine.
The nurses and auxiliaries are great- I have to endure monthly blood tests and rarely feel anything painful. I have always been made to feel comfortable and cared for.
Parking is easy and access is good. There is an on site pharmacy which is very handy for those of us out in the wilds.
The receptionists have always been efficient and you get contacted asap is there are any issues.
I'm just glad I've got these people in my corner because you do hear some horror stories from elsewhere.
