"I joined this practice at the end of last year after having continuing bad experiences at my old surgery. I have a long term health problem that does require me to see a doctor quite regularly so I mostly book my appointments in advance however if it's too far in front the reception staff always explain and tell me when is best to ring to book the appointment. I recently had to ring the surgery as an emergency the receptionist was really good took my details and a doctor rang me back 15mins later and I was given an appointment later that morning at the surgery the doctor I saw was very efficient listened to everything I said asked lots of question and was all round genuinely kind and caring. I can honestly say every member of staff I have dealt with have been really good. I have a monthly prescription which is ordered by the pharmacy I use never have any problem with this either which was one of the many reasons I left my previous surgery. I wouldn't hesitate at all in recommending the practice."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
