"It is with regret that I leave this review as this practice has served myself and family well over the years but a recent experience (yesterday) needs highlighting. My husband requested a repeat prescription for both of us on 7 February 2019. On Sunday 10 February we visited our designated pharmacist to collect prescription. My husband received his but I was informed my prescription had not been received. On Tuesday 12 February my husband visited the surgery to enquire regarding this and was informed that I must contact the surgery. I did so the same day and during the conversation with the senior receptionist I was told before receiving the prescription I must make an appointment. As I am in full time employment and recently visited my GP where my asthma was discussed, I asked for a non-urgent appointment (a protocol stating this is possible is displayed in the surgery) only to be informed that I must ring at 8am the following day but as the majority of patients are aware it is almost impossible get through. On pointing out the 2 week non urgent option I was informed there were none available. I am severely asthmatic along with the usual problems with allergies and eczema and have been under the care of hospital consultants for this for most of my life and this time of the year is when I am most vulnerable.
It is not the first time I have had difficulties booking a non-urgent appointment - on a previous occasion I requested such an appointment again I was informed that none were available - I pointed out the protocol displayed in the surgery and was a lot of huffing and puffing from the receptionist who muttered about the length of time it takes to book an appointment was made as requested.
The Governments discusses appointments been made available during the evening and weekends."
