"I queued up outside in the rain at 8 o'clock in the morning and got to the receptionist. No appointments. Come back tomorrow. I sit by my telephone from 7.30 in the morning and phone the surgery bang on 8 o'clock. I am first in the queue. It takes ages for the receptionist to answer. There are no appointments. I make an appointment at the hub. I am seen straight away but I need a referral which only my GP can give but I cannot get an appointment with a GP to make the referral. It's circular and Kafkaesque. I have no idea how to get an appointment. I am a 65 year old retired teacher and my daughter is a GP. I cannot believe how this system works."
