"I am disabled and totally fed up with no longer being able to make a phone call to either Bobblestock or King Street Surgeries for appointment, test results or check on any referrals as was always the case before the merger into Hereford Medical Group. The phone was always answered within a few minutes and if the receptionists were busy they would at least answer the phone and ask you if you could wait a few moments. The way the new phone centre works is horrendous. I have rung up and it told me I was 14th in the queue and have still waited for 50 minutes. When I eventually get through they are always very helpful but on that occasion the lady told me there were 6 people answering the phones and trying to deal with everything. On visiting a surgery I see a note saying they had dealt with 10,000 or so calls in the last week. When all these surgeries got together they all had receptionists to answer your enquiries. Have they not gone to our new call centre. The last moan about the problems with contacting the call centre is the cost of the phone calls. A lot of people like myself are on limited income. Who knows how much everyone is paying to stay in a queue. Make it a free phone number and I bet the phones would be answered in moments again. I access the online patient access and before the merger I used to be able to book an appointment online within a week. Not now. I looked the other day and to book an appointment I would have to wait 5 weeks. Also before the merger I was able to see my medical records and letters from the hospital etc. I could see test results as soon as they were available. This is no longer the case. I have also not seen my own doctor since the merger last year. No wonder more and more people are now going to A&E. What has happened to our wonderful health service? Our countries health care used to be the envy of all. No longer it seems! It is a great shame that I no longer feel able recommend the new Hereford Medical Group. MOAN OVER."
