"I started going to Morthen Road Surgery in 2011 and was satisfied with the service for several years.
Throughout 2017, they could not reliably do my repeat prescriptions on time, thus requiring multiple visits, and running out of tablets on a couple of occasions. A formal complaint made no difference. I found this very stressful as I suffer from anxiety (amongst other things) and was getting incredibly anxious about whether or not I was getting my anxiety medication next month.
The doctor eventually increased the dose of my medication (with my agreement), but I was unable to get a follow up appointment, despite asking six times over the course of two months. I therefore had no option but to try and wean myself off a medication which is notorious for withdrawal effects. This left me rather unwell in the end.
After getting rather desperate last year, I started receiving treatment elsewhere and am currently making good progress.
I no longer have any trust in Morthen Road Surgery to provide medical services, so I will not be returning. I am still registered with them so they are presumably still receiving capitation from the tax payer for my place on their list, despite their apparent unwillingness to provide services.
These problems occurred a year ago, so I hope they have bucked their ideas up since then.
Apart from the more recent problems, I am otherwise grateful for the assistance I received from the doctors at Morthen Road Surgery over the years as I felt very unwell when I first went in 2011, and had been unwell for some years."
