"As a relatively young person who was sadly diagnosed with a life long progressive autoimmune/neurological condition, it puts the fear of god in me any time my specialist team at the hospital suggest âsee my GP if I have any immediate concernsâ. Great in theory but as I was waiting over 2 and a half weeks for them to return a phone call to advise me on test results I wonât hold my breath. Now some might say why didnât I book an appointment, again great in theory but Iâd have been waiting over 3 weeks for that appointment. This surgery has quite literally lost total understanding of caring for its patients. It sadly seems that they like interesting patients and not us poor souls with long term health problems. When I eventually got hold of the doctor about my test results, Iâm told they werenât conclusive and I needed to come in for another test. The best bit was when I asked when they got the results back?! Would you believe it was about 3 days after they were done. So I was kept waiting over 2 weeks to be told no good, need to do again. To the majority this may just seem an annoyance, however to someone like myself, where these results would determine if I required immediate intervention by means of steroids to try to lessen the impact of my current relapse (something which is time sensitive as the steroids are less effective the longer I am left) itâs pretty serious. Never received an apology. Never got my steroids through them. I had to go to my neurologist as only they were interested in helping."
