"Knowing how difficult it is to get an appointment, I made sure I booked mine way in advance as to ensure I didnât take any unnecessary time off work as I would be on annual leave.
Since making the appointment and the appointment day, I hadnât received any notification from the surgery regarding any changes or issues with my appointment.
I went to the surgery on the date of my appointment, signed in on the little sign in machine only to see the message âwe cannot check you in at this timeâ display on the screen. So, I went to the receptionist. She informed me that I couldnât be seen to as the nurse was in the wrong clinic room, and that we would have to rearrange the appointment.
The next available appointment is over a month away and I am now forced to take time off work.
I am totally appalled by this lack of communication and respect that is given to patients. A courtesy phone call in advanced that would allow me to not waste my time, or fill an unnecessary appointment slot so that other patients could be seen instead would have been sufficient. No wonder there are never any appointments available if the surgery is so willing to waste appointment times just to turn people away."
