"My partner had high blood pressure in Feb 18, the doctor ran lots of tests, bloods, etc. We were told his ECG came back normal. February this year (2019) we have needed a medical report from the doctor for life insurance, on the report the doctor said that the ECG was abnormal and that he should have had an echocardiagram done back when he had the ECG which was 1 YEAR later! I even have a copy of the letter to say he should have been referred but wasn't. So, we have the echocardiogram done, ring up for the results, again reception said it was normal no action. Today, we receive a letter to say he has been reffered to the heart institute, when I rang the doctors to see what this appointment letter was for, they said "who told you it was normal?" The lady on the phone sounded surprised that we were told it was normal and wasn't much help. Rang the hospital to book in the appointment, and guess what, no appointments, so he's on a long waiting list to be seen, if this was dealt with last year when he had the ECG done we would have seen cardiology by now. I work in health care and am doing my nurse training and know things aren't always easy with wait times etc, but to tell us twice for two different tests that they were normal when they weren't is a joke. I am very upset and angry with the level of care my partner has received and I am considering wether or not to take this further. The lack of communication is appalling! We are looking to move doctors surgerys after I have decided wether I am going to take this further or not."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
