"Upon moving to the area I recently joined this surgery due to high ratings from an NHS local GP website and all the staff I have dealt with (except for the last receptionist - who had a "couldn't give a monkeys" attitude) were extremely professional and nice.
However I have a long-term chonic condition which means I am on medication for life. My previous GP was happy, as I have been on the medication for some time, to give my prescriptions on a 3 month period. This surgery will not and states that all prescriptions are for a maximum of 28 days. This would increase my costs by over 33% in prescription medications even with a 12 month PPC.
I researched this and it is contrary to national guidance issued by the BMC but the receptionist was completely intransigent that this was their policy.
I have thus decided to move to a GP more local with lower ratings online, but a better policy on dispensing medication to those with chronic lifetime conditions."
