"GPs here are good - once you finally get to speak with them! I call at 8.30am to get a same-day appointment and the new answerphone system does not allow you to get through. When I disconnected and redialled I was then at the back of the queue and had to wait again. All in all a 20 minute wait! When I eventually got to speak to the doctor, they advised me to call reception as I needed a face-to-face appointment - the Dr couldn't transfer me so I asked for reception to call me. I eventually got a text message a few hours later asking to phone to book an appointment...yes you guessed it - another 20 minute wait, just to be told their next scheduled appointment was over a month away.
Some of the receptionists need to take themselves down a peg too - they are not medically qualified and yet when you explain your issue (bearing in mind I have managed with my issue for 30 years now, so consider myself to have some clue about things) I get challenged on exactly why I need the appointment and get asked questions about my health management that are bordering on medical questions. This place used to be good but the barriers (telephone system and attitudes from some reception staff) to getting to the good service (the GPs) is really off-putting."
