"Recently amalgamated from 2 previous surgeries. Very difficult to get through on the phone. Tried for days and 8th in queue and line dies after 15 mins. Visited reception and staff are generally rude and they sigh as if everything is a bother. Not allowed to make advanced appointments for routine matters which is a nightmare, so everyone rings for same day appointments. The signage outside displays wrong times and name of practice, the website hasnât been updated and there is a general feeling of unprofessionalism about the place. They have been working on opening the new amalgamated practice for months and it clear that the planning and governance has been spectacularly wrong. I wouldnât email or write to the Practice Manager either as despite what she says in this blog, she will never get back to you. The GPâs and Nurses are good but their admin and support teams are simply dreadful."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
