"Overall the care received and the staff interactions are faultless. But I do have one issue with the repeat prescription service that could be improved upon.
Currently you must email requests for repeat prescriptions which is fine. But there is no acknowledgement or receipt or notification its been acted upon. On a few occasions now I have collected my items only to find something has been omitted. I have emailed again for the missing item gone to the pharmacy 24hrs later and no prescription has been received. This wastes my time having to go to the pharmacy multiple times, wastes the pharmacy's time hunting for a prescription that isn't there. Probably more seriously has led to me being off medication for several days at a time. The pharmacy have been very good giving me the missing meds trusting that I will sort it out with the surgery to issue a prescription to them.
I find this open loop process pretty poor and unhelpful. It should be a relatively trivial task to have a dedicated email address for repeat prescriptions with an autoresponder to acknowledge the request has been received. Even better would be to follow up with a email reply to say when the prescription has been issued to the pharmacy and what it will contain, and when it would be available to collect. The patient could identify any missing items and deal with it there and then and decide if they want to collect or wait until everything required has been prescribed."
