"My recent experience with Pioneer could be a guide to those patients who are able and willing to attend surgeries other than the normal one they go to.
A diagnosis at Ridingleaze, backed up by two visits to another doctor in Avonmouth Medical Centre and then teledermatology (photos) at Bradgate provided strong evidence to Southmead Hospital for immediate intervention. A single further visit to Southmead resulted in a decision by a surgeon to treat the problem immediately and within 4 days and was given an appointment for surgery two days later. That was yesterday and apart, from a mild reaction to the local anaesthetic I am well.
My message therefore is to take full advantage that the three surgery capacity affords, use the online booking system where you can and keep your appointment! This is not the first time I have used the full capacity the Pioneer has available and I am not queue jumping or doing any else down. If you can't get the appointment you really want try another surgery because every doctor has access to your notes and you might even see your usual doctor in a different place. Thank you Pioneer and Southmead for absolutely first class service to a grateful patient."
