"Over the last month to 6 weeks I have had occasion to call or visit the practice more times than I would like. Each time I have been treated with great care and empathy. Most calls and visits have been for my husband but each time situation resolved more than satisfactorily. Would like to also mention two receptionists in the customer help section who have been extremely helpful in spending a lot of time printing off documents, understanding my problem and, with the help of the doctor, sorting out medicines for my husband. The other was on Tuesday 28th August, when another lady very kindly sorted out an appointment for us. Just wish I had made a note of names. However, they will know who I mean. A very big thank you.
Have only one very small negative comment, would be nice if a stand in phlebotomist could be drafted in when your resident one is on holiday. My husband having weekly INR blood tests and it takes huge effort to get him to you, therefore it is a nightmare to get him further afield.I do, however appreciate the constraints everyone is under"

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
