"I have been with the surgery from the very start, I have complex medical conditions and a daughter now 7, who was born extremely premature at 25weeks.
The receptionists are always so helpful and Iâve never failed to have a phone consultation the same day and when necessary referred home visits if required. My favourite receptionists are Dionne, who you can always count on to be friendly and bubbly, Julie who is so gentle and empathetic and Lucky who is always glam and so professional, however all the office team are very good at their job.
In regards to appointments/consultations they are fantastic at prioritising patients due their needs, regardless of how stretched they are, which often they are extremely stretched as are all surgeries within the NHS.
I have to give an outstanding review of Dr Helen Tyrell, She ALWAYS goes above and beyond every time, not just her healthcare approach but she has an excellent holistic and wellbeing approach.
As a complex medical patient, she does not hesitate to contact my specialist consultant directly to seek further assistance in my care management or to raise any concerns if needed. Which overall is better manages my health and concerns are dealt with quicker and more efficiently. She has excellent communication skills, ensuring you understand and and without question, the most approachable Doctor Iâve ever met in 34years.
Not just with my own healthcare but also when I have concerns with my daughter. Not only does she always has excellent professional advice but also relates as a mother herself which really helps my worries.
Itâs not just Dr Tyrell, all the doctors within the practice are passionate about their job. And always their to help, I never feel rushed although I do respect their time limitations.
I do highly recommend that you write down your reasons for the appointment in advanced and try and focus on the main health concern or any questions you may have. This goes with any NHS appointment. It helps the health practitioner get to the root of your health concerns more effectively and efficiently.
Also highly recommend that you share as much information with the receptionist so they can priorities you more effectively and efficiently.
As a chronic illness advocate myself, I speak with a variety of different people with a spectrum of health conditions and often feel genuinely embarrassed that I cannot identify with them because I have such an incredible GP practice when I continuously hear their shocking and saddening experiences at so many other practices within the UHCW area.
I can sincerely say that Priory Gate Practice meets all my complex medical needs and in a great location, with different facilities on site."
