"Whenever I have been into the surgery the GPs have always given excellent care. On this occasion I had a minor surgery and the GP and Nurse were both friendly and pleasant and kept me at ease. The procedure was explained properly and I felt very informed about what was going to take place. I also have a long term condition and they were able to help me gain some insight into how to manage that better. I feel much more prepared to manage my condition on my own now so this was definitely beneficial to both myself and the surgery in a saved appointment!
I do think that the practice could be better managed though as it is very hard to get an appointment (even when the GP has requested the appointment?!) When there is an error the reception staff do not apologise or empathise with the situation, which to be honest is not really acceptable. They close for half a day for training once every 1 or 2 months and I think this could be better utilised to ensure training is provided to ensure patients are treated as individuals by reception staff. To clarify, there are some of the reception staff that are very friendly and also helpful so perhaps they could help to advise others who can seem cold, unhelpful and like they do not want to be there.
In summary the Doctors are amazing - reception and appointment management leave a lot to be desired."
