"This morning I took my mother to the surgery for an appointment with a respiratory nurse from the British oxygen company.
I gave the receptionist her name appt time etc and was told to take a seat she would be called through.
At 1135 and having not been seen my mother went to ask if there was a delay, to be told by the same receptionist that had booked her in. That the clinic had been canvelled!
I appreciate the surgery has no control over clinics that are run by outside agencies. But would expect the staff to be able to remember if clinics had been cancelled. My mother needs to use oxygen when mobilising and so attending an appointment is stressful and tiring for her.
Within the last month along with this incident. Members of our family have attended on 3 separate occasions for appointments with the nurse for blood tests. That were made face to face, written on appt cards. But when the time came there was no appt on the computer and no offer was made to try to accommodate.
Communication within Riverside surgery certainly appears to be lacking these days."
