"Read the reviews and was a little anxious about going to the centre.in the past it's taken ages to get through to reception,so I was really surprised when the phone was answered after a wait of 3/4 mins.Very helpful Male receptionist found me an appointment with a doctor I had not met before.While waiting in reception the TV screen announcements said,'your GP appointment is for 10mins,so make the most of it'.So even more anxious now,in case I felt rushed.Met a DR.Lovely nature,diagnosed me straight away and gave me prescription.Gave me information about my complaint and said to come back if I needed to.Spoke briefly about another condition as well.Not sure if I over stayed my 10mins.i will make another appointment with him anytime.
We are so lucky to have the NHS,I had been treating myself for 2 weeks,with no results,I wish I had gone sooner.Sorry to hear that some of you have needed to complain.Hope you have better treatment next time."

Qualifications - DGM, MBBS, MRCGP

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Qualifications - BSc, MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
