"I am currently on 'holiday' in Sedlescombe, cat-sitting for friends who are on honeymoon. I have COPD, and though I was quite well just before arriving on hols, within two days I was particularly breathless and coughing dark phlegm. My wife suggested I try to find a local GP surgery, and whilst getting my daily newspaper at Sedlescombe shop, asked about a GP and was directed to the surgery. The Receptionist was *so* helpful and got me in to see a doctor within a few minutes (only because there happened to be a 'slot'). The Receptionist helped me fill out a form necessary for holiday visitors, so info can be sent to one's own GP later; and in a few minutes I was seen by the doctor. The doctor confirmed what I had feared, a chest infection, and prescribed anti-biotics, which I was able to get as I left the surgery because they have a dispensary on-site! What lovely, helpful, staff & doctor there is at this surgery! Locals must be very pleased - and me? Well I'm just happy to have, within half-an-hour of finding a GP surgery, medicine that soon will have me thoroughly enjoying my holiday in East Sussex again, and soon able to breathe easily again! Thank you, Sedlescombe GP Surgery Staff and Doctor! When I return home to Milton Keynes, I'll tell my friends how quickly I was seen, and how well I was treated!"

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

Dr Philip Monnery qualified from ST George’s Hospital Medical School in 1991, Undertaking a career in the Royal Air force. Initially undertaking surgical training and specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat he became a consultant in the Military in 2006. A change in life goals meant a change to general practice in 2009. He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
