"I have always been reasonably satisfied with this surgery, despite never being able to get an appointment when I needed one (emergency appointments excepted), on the understanding that all surgeries are under this type of resource pressure. But after having a severe injury which was dealt with at Cheltenham A&E, I rang the surgery to request an appointment for the wound to be redressed (as advised by A&E staff) and was told 'no' in no uncertain terms. I was told this wasn't something they could offer me as there were no nurses in the practice and no appointments available. I was left wondering what to do with the wound. I was told to go back to A&E to have it redressed. It is quite obvious that this GP surgery is using A&E as an extension of their own surgery where they think they can offload patients. A&E is for real emergencies (see posters in A&E waiting rooms) and not there to take up the slack of GP surgeries."
