"We recently moved from one side of Ashford to the other and had to move surgeries. I was nervous registering here, because of some of the negative comments I'd heard and because of the latest inspection. We have a multi generation household and it was important to me to find a surgery which was able to deal professionally with my children as well as my elderly parents. From the outset, the staff have been friendly. Unlike my old surgery, which was supposed to be the "outstanding" one, I have always managed to get through on the phone after one or two attempts. Appointments have been available fairly quickly and the surgery has sorted out the medication various family members have on repeat prescription with no fuss. My son was nervous meeting a new doctor, but the doctor was very kind with him and took our concerns seriously.
The only problem my parents have had, which is NOT the fault of the surgery, but the local system, is that my Dad is unable to get hearing aid batteries from the surgery. At his old surgery in Whitstable, he was able to get them from the surgery itself. Here in Ashford this facility is only available two days a month for a short time period (2 hours I think) in the centre of town, which isn't very accessible for people with mobility problems."
