"I have been registered here for two years now, and I would recommend the surgery to anyone. The surgery is very busy and of course is subject to the pressures of the effects of austerity and yet they are managing to provide what I view as a very good service.
I have several chronic conditions and when I am in touch about them I am always taken seriously. This was particularly notable when I reported a change in a condition early December and was immediately listened to and a plan made. This has certainly not always been my experience with other GPs.
The telephone reception is generally always of a high standard, and the appointments generally run to time. Sometimes they don't but emergencies happen. I love the flu jab system where you just turn up to a clinic and don't need a three minute window appointment. The nurses are super helpful and pleasant. I have never had to wait for an appointment - but I am flexible about who I see which might help that. You don't always see your named doctor but I have never had issue with any of the support I have received.
Again, having been really not listened to previously by some GPs, the experience at St James' is a real relief. Thank you to everyone who is making such a difference for your patient group."
