"My 6 month old son was making unusual breathing noises after calling NHS Direct I was advised to contact my GP as they would offer me a telephone appointment or face to face appointment. When I called the surgery no appointments were available and I was asked to call back at 2:30 for the afternoon appointments.
2:30 arrived I was sat on hold for 28 minutes and by the time I got through I was told no appointments available. The receptionist was rude she didnât apologise once and told me âif I was that concerned about my son I should call 111 backâ I asked to speak to the practice manager but she had left for the day.
I ended up taking him to minor injuries to find out they donât treat babies under 1 but they checked him over to ensure he was okay to travel to A & E which I would of done in the first place if I didnât follow the advice I had been given. Iâm still waiting for a call back from the practice manager but Iâm sure any doctor could have spared 5 minutes to check him over, his a baby.
