"My elderly father in law was referred for a cataract operation by Boots Opticians in Lowestoft with a choice of James Pages Hospital or St Stevensgate. We choose St Stevensgate as we where informed that waiting time was shorter. Having waited for about a year for his cataract operation at JPH on his other eye we have been stunned and delighted that 5 weeks after this referral the operation has been completed successfully and he has been discharged after the follow up appointment.
We have nothing but praise for St Stevensgate. My father in law was dealt with respect and efficiency. We would not hesitate to recommend the practice and only wish that such a marvellous facility could be available in the Beccles or Lowestoft area."

Dr Ko Ko Laing qualified in 1989, his previous surgery in Victory Road merged with the Portsdown Group in April 2010. He is a highly experienced GP, is based in Kingston Crescent Surgery he has a number of special interest which includes medicine, rheumatology and joint injections. He is a keen tennis player and also enjoys travel.

Dr Peter Kipgen

Dr Kipgen qualified from Barts and the London Medical School in 2006 (MBBS). He completed his GP training in Dorset in 2015 (MRCGP). He has a broad range of experience gained from hospital posts earlier in his career; these include paediatrics, sexual health, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. In his spare time he enjoys hill-walking and is a keen amateur chef. He also enjoys playing and watching sport especially rugby and football.

He joined Portsdown Group Practice in 2015 and maintains his special interest in ENT and is responsible for the Portsdown Travel Clinic. He is married to Alison and has three children who keep them both very busy. He likes nothing better than to relax in the garden and is frequently seen with either a chainsaw or an axe, what could go wrong!?

Dr Catherine Tuson

Dr Cat Tuson graduated from Warwick University in 2007 and joined the Practice in 2013 having completed her GP training in the North East of England. She has a special interest in orthopaedics and joint injections and also in women’s health.
